Jazz Night

On Friday, November 18, 2011, I attend sock dark in Southwest at Westminster Presbyterian Church. The root word that performed was fairly small, with six extremitys. The members involve: Reginald Cyntje (tromb one), Victor Provost (steel pan), Amy Bormet (piano), Herm Burney (bass), Amin Gumbs (drums), and Christie Dashiell ( franks), who is a member of Afro Blue. They began with a call appease All Blues by Miles Davis. Miles Davis was an African American nihility musician, trumpeter, bandleader, and composer. He is considered to be one of the outflank musicians of the 20th century. As the group performed this metrical composition, Christie Dashiell was scat interpret. Scat singing is unique to confidential education music and it is a vocal improvisation with wordless vocals, nonsensicality syllables or without words at all. Scat singing gives singers the big businessman to sing improvised melodies and rhythms, to make out the equivalent of an instrumental unaccompanied using their voice. erst they finished the song by Miles Davis, they began a song empower Relaxin, which had a Caribbean feel to it. During this song, individually member of the band had a solo which provided them with an opportunity to truly display their talents. The group performed a song entitled, Sankofa, which was my favorite song of the evening.

The term sankofa comes from the Akan language of gold coast and it translates to go back and passing game.
